Jumpstart

Jumpstart's mission is simple yet significant: to engage young people in service to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Jumpstart Seattle at the University of Washington trains and supports teams of UW undergraduates to help low-income children in preschool classrooms build language literacy, social relations, and initiative skills. The program allows undergraduates to explore the world of early childhood education, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and increase their awareness of the diverse communities they serve.

Undergraduate academic advising at the University of Washington is a core element of the University's focus on student learning.

As educators, advisers partner with faculty and the campus community to cultivate our students' intellectual development.

As guides and advocates, advisers collaborate with students to craft a transformative educational experience so that they may become informed, articulate and thoughtful students of the University and citizens of the world.
