Foundation for International Understanding through Students (FIUTS)

The Foundation for International Understanding through Students (FIUTS) is a community nonprofit organization that was established on the University of Washington campus in 1948. At the intersection of the University of Washington and our community, the mission of FIUTS is to inspire lifelong engagement in experiences that build global understanding. At FIUTS, we aim to create a global community of individuals connected to Seattle and the University of Washington who celebrate our world’s diversity through cultural exchange and international friendship.

The best way to get to know FIUTS is to attend the free Wednesday lunch program, held weekly during the academic year, Wednesday 11:30-1:30 in 200HUB. In addition, various events and/or trips and tours are happening almost every weekend of the quarter. Check out the FIUTS web site for more information.

Undergraduate academic advising at the University of Washington is a core element of the University's focus on student learning.

As educators, advisers partner with faculty and the campus community to cultivate our students' intellectual development.

As guides and advocates, advisers collaborate with students to craft a transformative educational experience so that they may become informed, articulate and thoughtful students of the University and citizens of the world.
