WOIS/The Career Information System is a private, nonprofit organization that researches and distributes information about Washington careers, schools, and training programs.

You should use WOIS if you find yourself saying things like:

"I know what I want to do for a career but don’t know how to get there."

Start by selecting OCCUPATIONS and choosing one career on the list that you’re considering.

  • Find out how the skills you’re learning right now can be used in the careers you have your sights set on.
  • Check out over 400 careers with job prospects and salaries.
  • Envision yourself doing this work as you read detailed career descriptions and watch interviews with professionals.

Select ASSESSMENTS to find tools that will help you match your unique skills, interests, and values with careers.

  • Use the Career Interest Areas and Interest Profiler to see how your interests match up with the world of work.
  • Use the Skills tool to rate your own skills and compare them with what's required for occupations.
