This panel features students who began at community college, transferred to the UW, and are successfully
pursuing graduate school in the sciences and humanities. Panelists will share their experiences and advice, so
you can help guide students along the path from CC to PhD. We will also highlight programs that assist students
on this journey.
EXPERIENCE TRANSFER THURSDAY
Conference participants are invited to participate in a regularly scheduled Transfer Thursday, right
alongside students who will be in attendance. Community college advisers can attend the sessions
your students attend, hear the questions your students are asking. UW advisers can hear the
messages prospective students are given by Admissions and learn how other departments handle
prospective students at Transfer Thursday events. Attend any and all parts that are of interest to you!
Admissions & General Education for Transfer Students
During this session you will be able to be a part of an actual Transfer Thursday admissions information session.
Listen to prospective UW transfer students ask questions as we review the Transfer Admissions & Planning (TAP)
Guide. Be a part of the discussion. Ask questions. It’s all live!
International Student Admissions & General Education for Transfer Students
Applying to the UW as an international student is a once-a-year prospect. Come learn the details of the process
and how to advise your international students.
Campus Tour!
Did you know that in the past 7 years, the UW has built or remodeled more than 55 buildings on campus? Take
a tour with one of the Admissions Office undergraduate tour guides, the folks who introduce 16,000 visitors to
campus each year, and get to know our campus a little better! Tour starts at Mary Gates Hall, meet in the foyer
by the north doors.
Admissions Follow-up: Just for Advisers
After the actual Transfer Thursday admissions information session ends, ask the admissions counselor for
clarification or more detail. Experts in the English Language Proficiency requirement will be present. Domestic
and international follow-up questions welcome.
