Fast facts on helping students transition to the UW
For many University of Washington staff and faculty members, summer “break” does not exist. From June to September, advisers, faculty, First Year Programs staff and student orientation leaders, and campus-wide partners welcomed thousands of new students and their families to the UW.
Even before classes start, first-year students began to anchor themselves here, form their academic identities and build community. Summer orientation laid the groundwork for them to understand and fully engage in the boundless opportunities inherent within the UW’s leading-edge student experience.
