Students to present their summer research in poster session and oral presentations

Students participating in ten different summer research programs will present their work in a poster session on August 18, from 9 a.m.-noon in Mary Gates Hall Commons. The undergraduates are from the University of Washington as well as institutions from around the country. Students research projects are all in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines (STEM).

Open to the public, the poster session is a collaboration among several summer programs hosting UW students and visiting undergraduates from around the country. About 150 students from summer programs such as the Amgen Scholars Summer Program, Engineering Undergraduate Research Program, Hooked on Photonics, Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity, UW Engineered Biomaterials among other programs. Students in this summer’s Amgen Scholars Program will also present their research at the oral presentation sessions on Thursday, August 19 from 2:30-5 p.m. in Mary Gates Hall rooms 242, 284, and 288.
