Voice Mail Lets You Say You Are Away


Whether you are in a meeting for the morning or away for a week, you can use voice mail to tell callers when you will be back or whom to call in your absence. Best of all, this is a standard voice mail feature, so there is nothing extra to install.

Extended Absence Greeting

The feature called "extended absence greeting" is voice mail's version of an email vacation message and does the following:

Easy to Use

No matter what type of phone you have, you can set up an extended absence greeting by following these simple steps:

  1. From the voice mail main menu, press
    [4] (personal options),
    [3] (greetings), and then
    [2] (extended absence).

  2. Record your greeting.

  3. Press [#] when finished.

  4. If you are satisfied with the greeting, press [#]. Listen for other options.

  5. Press [*] to return to the main menu.

  6. Press [*] to disconnect.

To cancel your extended absence greeting:

  1. Access your mailbox.

  2. Follow the system prompts to retain, delete, or listen to your temporary greeting. (You are returned to the main menu.)

  3. Press [*] to exit.
