Three New Telephone Prefixes for UW Campuses
This summer, UW Bothell got its own telephone prefix (352), as did UW
Tacoma (692), and UW Seattle got a new prefix (221) to be used exclusively
for new telephone lines.
Calling a Branch Campus
When calling UW Bothell or UW Tacoma from a campus phone, you may dial the
last five digits of the number.
-
To call UW Bothell (425-352-xxxx) from campus, use 2-xxxx
-
To call UW Tacoma (253-692-xxxx) from campus, use 2-xxxx
-
To call either campus from a UW Medical Center phone (with a 548 number),
dial 8 + the last five digits (8 + 2-xxxx)
New UW Seattle Prefix 221 Allows for Growth
To allow for continued expansion, a new UW Seattle telephone prefix (221)
is being assigned to new phone lines. All campus telephone numbers that
begin with the 543, 616, 685, or 934 prefix remain the same.
To call a 221 telephone number:
-
From any campus phone (Seattle, Bothell, or Tacoma), dial the last five
digits of the number (1-xxxx)
-
From a UW Medical Center phone (with a 548 number), dial 9 + the full
seven-digit number (9-221-xxxx)
