What Is RSS?

Now you can download news and information about computing and networking at the UW via RSS feeds. RSS is a format that can serve news and event summaries to your desktop without requiring you to check the Web site for updates.

In order to use RSS, you will need a newsreader. Many newsreader programs are available for Windows, Macintosh and other computers. Additionally, the Mozilla Thunderbird email program now has a built-in RSS reader.
