TA/RA Conference Social @ The Research Commons

Monday, September 21st 4:00 – 5:30
Allen Library Research Commons

The TA/RA Conference Social welcomes new graduate students to the University Libraries’ Research Commons. Socialize with fellow graduate students, meet subject librarians and CTL staff, while enjoying refreshments in this interactive library space.  RSVP opens September 1st.

About the Research Commons: The Research Commons is a place to collaborate and connect with fellow students and faculty on research projects, a place for workshop and presentation opportunities, and a place for interdisciplinary connection. It provides a collaborative environment in which students and faculty can come together to share and discuss research, as well as get support on steps of the research process: searching, writing, organizing, publishing, funding.

Veteran Orientation Luncheon

Tuesday, September 22nd 12:00-1:00
Location TBD

The Husky United Military Veterans (HUMV), UW’s largest student veterans group, in conjunction with the UW Veterans Center, will be hosting an orientation luncheon for graduate students who are veterans. The purpose of this luncheon is to welcome incoming graduate student veterans and help to familiarize them with their new home at UW. Though the event is geared toward new students, any current graduate student veteran is welcome to attend the luncheon. The intent of this luncheon is to inform student veterans of the resources available to them on campus and in the local community, to answer any questions student veterans might have about the transition process (e.g. housing, childcare, benefits), and to help build the veteran community on campus. RSVP here.  We hope to see you there!
For questions, contact: Brandon Ray, Graduate and Professional Students Senate (GPSS) Liaison for HUMV
