Call for Facilitators
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is seeking applications for TA and RA facilitators for workshops at this year’s conference. Facilitators are provided with resource packets for the workshops, attend workshop planning meetings, and receive a stipend.
Please inform experienced TAs and RAs in your department of this opportunity and direct them to the Information for Facilitators page to apply.
Informing Your TAs and RAs about the Conference
CTL will send departments a conference invitation as a pdf, which you can then forward on to your new TAs and RAs directly.
The conference registration process will be the same as in past years. Online registration will be open from June 24th through August 4th. Also, as in past years, before registration has closed, the CTL will let departments knows which of their TAs and RAs have already registered. This will allow departments to follow up with any TAs and RAs who haven’t yet registered.
TAs and RAs who do not sign up by August 4th are still welcome to attend the conference. However, they will not be assured a seat in every workshop they would like to attend. Late registration information will be on the Conference Registration webpage after August 4th.
Department Workshop Recommendations
Many departments recommend specific workshops for their TAs and RAs to attend. If you would like to recommend workshops, please do so in the email you send along with the conference invitation. For more information about what workshops will be offered this year and what times each workshop is offered, see Workshop Descriptions and Conference Program.
Note regarding UW-IT and UW Libraries Workshops:
- The UW Information Technology workshops have changed this year (see Workshop Descriptions). If your department would like to request a workshop for a topic that is not listed, you can schedule a free customized workshop for a minimum of six attendees. For more information, see UW-IT’s Custom Workshops. To arrange a workshop, contact email@example.com.
- Space is limited for the UW-IT and UW Libraries workshops, so please encourage your TAs and RAs to register early.
Participation in the Conference
Two weeks after the conference, we will send you a list of the TAs and RAs from your department who participated in the conference and what workshops they attended. We hope that this information is helpful to your department in planning. Note that attendance is not taken at the Plenary session on Tuesday morning.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the CTL at 206.543.6588.
