Program Search by Focus

Searching by a particular academic focus is a good way to narrow down your study abroad options into something more easily digestible, but it can also be tricky. The different program types that are available can make this process confusing. It can be useful to familiarize yourself with those models in the Programs at a Glance section of the website before beginning your search by focus.

For example, if you link to the advanced search tab in the Program Search page you’ll find a drop down menu for “Field of Interest.” If you were to choose “Art History” with no other parameters, the list will be extensive and it will include any UW University Exchange that has an Art History program – probably not what you’re looking for. Adding parameters can help to narrow choices for you, but you may also want to dig deeper into individual program brochures to discover the details of the academic components of a program.

The course equivalency database can help to give you a glimpse of how particular courses at exchange partner schools and UW Partner Program providers have been assigned as UW courses in the past.
