2008 National Security and Education Program David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholars
Established in 1991, the NSEP David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarship provides funding opportunities for U.S. students to study languages and world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East).
2008 UW NSEP Undergraduate Scholars:
- Jacob Barr – International Studies; Germanic Language & Literature; Slavic Language & Literature; traveling to Czech Republic to study Czech.

- Calla Hummel - International Studies; traveling to Brazil to study Portuguese.

- Stephanie Kim - International Studies; traveling to Jordan to study Arabic.
