Description
Each year, deserving students interested in becoming journalists receive more than $100,000 in NABJ scholarships. NABJ annually awards several $2,500 awards and a $5,000 scholarship to college students and graduating high school students.Eligibility
Competition for the scholarship is open to any African American high school senior who will be a freshman in the fall and will attend an accredited four-year institution. The student is eligible for renewal for three years providing the student:- Majors in print journalism
- Maintains a minimum grade point average of 3.0
- Works with the campus newspaper
Procedure
To ensure your application is ready to be submitted, have an instructor or counselor review your package to confirm that your:- Resume is clear and highlights each of your accomplishments
- Essay is readable and tells us why you want to be journalists
- Recommendations highlight your strengths
- Package is complete
- Transcript is current and an official copy
