Description

The University of Washington Alumnae Board is a VOLUNTEER organization that provides ONE YEAR of full tuition scholarship funds for Washington State residents who will be or are attending the University of Washington as an undergraduate. In case another full tuition-only scholarship is offered, the applicant must choose which tuition scholarship is most suitable to his/her needs.

Eligibility

  • Resident of Washington at time of application.
  • Undergraduate (any year), including transfer students, but not current degree holders.
  • Will be or is attending the University of Washington Seattle campus.
  • Those entering as Freshmen or from Running Start programs should have a GPA of 3.5 and above.
  • Sophomore, Junior, and Senior applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 and above.
  • Freshmen: Combined SAT scores are over 1,600, and ACT scores are over 22.
  • Parents’ adjusted gross income below $85,000.
  • Applicants must apply for Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA).
Recipients are selected on the basis of FINANCIAL NEED, SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY SERVICE, and a demonstrated STRONG WORK ETHIC.

Procedure

The application must include:
  • A personal letter: no more than one page, single-spaced outlining your educational and vocational aims, explains financial need, and any extenuating circumstances.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A copy of the confirmation letter.
  • An unofficial transcript (or progress reports).
  • Confirmation of FAFSA application.
