Registration Policies When the Prerequisite is Not Yet Posted

When a student registers for Autumn quarter, the computer checks Summer quarter for prerequisites. For example, if a student registers for MATH 125 in Summer quarter at the UW, then attempts to register in May for MATH 126 in Autumn quarter, the computer will see the Summer MATH 125 and allow the student to register in MATH 126. The computer does not, however, count Summer quarter credits in determining the student's class standing for Autumn registration. In fact, a student's May class standing is not adjusted until October, in preparation for Period 1 registration for Winter quarter.
