Terms and Conditions of Use

Credit cards (Visa or Mastercard) and ATM/Debit cards may be used to pay tuition and fees over the internet. The University works with an external vendor, Nova, to process payments. The service is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and a convenience fee is assessed for each transaction.

Other alternatives for paying your tuition and fees include webcheck, sending checks by mail or delivering check or cash in person.

If a credit card is used to pay tuition and fees, any resulting credit balance will be refunded to the credit card upon request.

Withdrawal

Students who withdraw from all classes by the 7th calendar day of the quarter pay no tuition.
Students who withdraw from all classes between the 8th & 30th calendar day of the quarter (21st calendar day in Summer quarter) are required to pay half tuition.
Students who withdraw from all classes after the 30th calendar day of the quarter (21st calendar day in Summer quarter) are required to pay full tuition.

Class Drops

Students who drop classes by the 7th calendar day of the quarter receive a refund for any reduction in tuition due to the drop.
Students who drop classes between the 8th & 30th calendar days of the quarter (21st calendar day in Summer quarter) receive a refund of one-half of the tuition reduction associated with the drop. This is an addition to the $20 Late Change of Registration Fee.
Students who drop classes after the 30th calendar day of the quarter (21st calendar day in Summer quarter) receive no reduction in tuition and will also be charged a $20 Late Change of Registration Fee.

Payments made for tuition and fees will be posted immediately to the student's account.

Privacy Information

The information provided to the UW Web Credit Card service is sent only to the University unit with whom business was transacted. The University of Washington will not share your information with any company or individual unless approved by you.

The University unit that you make payment to will only send you notices related to your transaction (e.g. payment confirmation). You will not receive any unrequested solicitations as the result of using the UW Web Credit Card service.

Security Information

The UW Web Credit Card service uses state of the art technology to be as secure as possible. Sensitive information is transmitted securely. The UW Web Credit Card service supports secure online purchasing through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This technology works best when the site is viewed using Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

You will know you are in an encrypted area when you see either a closed lock or a solid key in the bottom bar of your browser window in Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. Look for these signs before entering your sensitive information.

In addition to SSL, all information that you provide during the transaction process is further encrypted for your protection and can only be decrypted by UW Web Credit Card.

Your credit card is not stored on UW Web Credit Card Servers. Instead, it is saved in an encrypted cookie in your web browser that only the UW Web Credit Card Service can decrypt. This cookie ceases to exist when you close your browser window.

Paying Tuition & Fees by Credit Card Over the Internet

To pay by credit card, students can sign in at MyUW and select the 'Credit Card Payment' option; parents should go directly to the Tuition/Fees Payment by Credit Card web page. Credit cards will not be accepted in person or over the phone.
