Outreach Education and Services

The SFS Outreach staff is dedicated to helping students and the University community understand and use the wide variety of online and in-person UW fiscal services.

Group Presentations:

  • Prepares and delivers presentations on SFS services to students, advisors, and other interested audiences
  • Develops and offers sessions for students (such as Money 101 and Tax 101) on managing their finances effectively
  • Offers Student Database (SDB) training on how to authorize your aid/departmental scholarships and/or fellowships
    • Each session is customized to the audience and time allotted
    • SFS services presentation will take from 15 minutes to 1 hour
    • Managing finances presentation will take from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours
    • SDB training will take from 1 - 2 hours

Written Information:

  • Develops and distributes written material about SFS services for use by students, parents, advisors and others including:
    • Information cards and posters on direct deposit of aid
    • Bookmarks with information on offices in Schmitz Hall
    • Brochures describing SFS
    • Brochures describing the handling of scholarship monies
    • FAQ flyer
    • Posters on tuition due date, late charges, payment options
    • MySpace Dawg Dollars page
    • Dawg Dollars Blog

Participates in UW Activites including:

Seeks Feedback and Measures Effectiveness:

  • Conducts yearly student satisfaction surveys and reports results
  • Facilitates meetings of SFS Advisory Board
    • Autumn Quarter SFS Advisory Board meeting
