Grade Submission Delegates Help

Grade submission delegates are those individuals who are authorized to submit grades via Catalyst Web Grade Book in lieu of the instructor(s) of record. Grade submission delegate authority is not intended to replace the authority of the instructor(s) of record, but is a tool to help ensure timely submission of grades for those extraordinary circumstances when an instructor of record is unable to submit grades by the grade-submission deadline.

There are four levels of grade submission delegates:

  1. College-level delegate
  2. Department-level delegate
  3. Curriculum-prefix-level delegate
  4. Section-level delegate
Each level's delegate has grade submission authority over all sections within that delegate's span of control. For example, a department-level delegate can submit grades for any section within the department for which the delegate is authorized.

Section-level delegates can be designated by the instructor(s) of record via MyUWClass or by the authorized users of the Time Schedule Maintenance Web system. All other delegate levels can be changed by sending an email to the Time Schedule Office at times@u.washington.edu.
