Satisfactory Academic Progress
To be eligible for financial aid at the University of Washington,
students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress. This means to
remain eligible for all types of financial aid you must meet the four
requirements below:
Full-time students (12 or more credits per quarter)
- Complete a minimum of 6 credits each quarter.
- Complete 36 credits for full-time aid received in the autumn through
spring quarters (and 48 credits for the summer through spring
quarters).
- Finish your program within a maximum time frame, which cannot exceed
225 attempted credits.
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) as established by the
University. In general, you must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA per
quarter. Please review the Academic Probation and Dismissal for Low Scholarship
policy.
Part-time students (less than 12 credits per quarter)
- Complete a minimum of 50% of your attempted credits each quarter.
- Complete all of the credits you attempt for part-time aid received in
the summer through spring quarters.
- Finish your program within a maximum time frame, which cannot exceed
225 attempted credits.
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) as established by the
University. Generally this is at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA per

If you do not meet these requirements, then you will need to file an
appeal for consideration of continued financial aid.
