Consideration of physiological acoustics and psychoacoustics, the pertinent literature, and the experimental techniques related to study in these areas. Offered: A.
This class will focus on the perceptual changes in hearing of individuals with cochlear impairment and relate those changes to the underlying physiological mechanisms. Lectures will aim to provide a theoretical framework for understanding and interpreting the perceptual changes in hearing impaired individuals so that students will understand the basic mechanisms involved and how these mechanisms apply to clinical audiology.
