Intermediate Russian Morphology

Examination of Russian morphology with emphasis on topics that help to prepare the student for advanced courses in Russian. Conducted partly in Russian. Prerequisite: either RUSS 203 or RUSS 250.

Class description

The verb, noun and adjective, derivational elements and their endings

Student learning goals

How to discover the structure of a word in Russian

The relationship of the word ending to the function of the word

The vocabulary of grammar

General method of instruction

Recommended preparation

Good knowledge of written and spoken Russian.

Class assignments and grading

Daily homework assignments

Classroom participation, midterm and final
