Class description
Winter - 2001 This course will deal with word order within the minimalist program. There will be a brief introduction to the minimalist program, followed by a discussion of selected word order phenomena. Most of the empirical content of the course as well as the discussion of classical analyses will be based on the textbook, but there will be additional readings. Students are expected to have taken Syntactic Theory I (Ling 507) or have the equivalent background. There will be a choice of a term paper or a final exam.
