Class description
Topic: Political Psychology: Attitudes & Persuasion Description: This course will draw on various theories and empirical findings within social and cognitive psychology to enrich our understanding of public opinion and political behavior in the United States. We will consider a broad array of topics including the development and maintenance of political attitudes, the role of emotion in politics, automaticity, ambivalence and attitude change. There will be a strong emphasis on experimental work, and a secondary goal of the course is to familiarize students with experimental methods and attitude measurement.
