Class description
Topic: The Political Economy of the European Union Description: This course focuses on the changing relations of politics and economics Western Europe, with a focus on the European Community. Economic and political theories of integration will be examined in detail with an eye on explaining the successes and failures of European integration. Specific topics include the Single European Act, the Maastricht Treaty, monetary unification, the democratic deficit, and the emergence of a European social policy.
