Class description
Description. This course examines the interplay of religion and politics from a global historical perspective. Although the primary focus will be on Christianity, the political roles of Islam, Judaism and other traditions will be considered. The theoretical focus of the class will be on rational-intentional and institutional explanations, although ideational and structural perspective will also be examined. Regions covered include Europe, Latin America, the United States, and the Middle East. Texts.
