Class description
Topic: Fair Trade in The World Economy Description: The problem of achieving fair labor standards has increased throughout the world, including the United States. Sweatshops, subcontractor violations, and exploitative and unsafe labor conditions are prevalent. Campaigns for fair trade constitute one response and labor codes—including monitoring mechanisms—are another. The seminar will explore the reasons for the violations of fair labor standards and consider proposed means to improve labor standards.
