Introduction to Comparative Politics

Political systems in a comparative framework. Traditional and contemporary approaches to the study of governments and societies in different countries. Offered: WSp.

Class description

Description: This course will introduce students to core concepts in comparative politics, with a particular focus on the major themes of state, democracy, and development. Students will develop a theoretical framework for understanding how different political systems around the world differ from each other and from idealized concepts of political development.
