OPMGT 450
Seattle Campus
Focuses on the management of complex projects and the tools and techniques which have been developed in the past 25 years to assist managers with such projects. The course covers all elements of project planning, scheduling and control as well as implementation and organizational issues. Prerequisite: OPMGT 301.
Class description
The course covers the mechanics of defining, scheduling, budgeting and controlling projects. This is accomplished through three avenues: completion of problem sets, a series of exercises in which Microsoft Project is used to schedule and track a project, and a project simulation in which teams compete in bidding, planning and executing a project. In addition to the science of project management, we will tackle the art of project politics and team building.
