Guided survey and discussion of current literature on major topics in physiological nursing. Seminar/lecture with analysis and discussion of selected topics and readings. May have clinical component. Implications for nursing practice and health care emphasized.
Class description
WHOLE FOODS NUTRITION This course is designed to emphasize the understanding that cooking and eating are at the core of maintaining good health. Students will learn about the history of various whole foods, how they are grown and processed for human consumption and how these foods have been traditionally prepared, as well as modern preparation techniques. How to design a well-balanced meal from a variety of models is also covered. There will be some cooking, writing, and reading assignments.
