Fundamentals of oral and written Norwegian. First in a sequence of three.
Class description
The primary goal of language instruction in this course is the development of communication. Our communicative approach involves a high degree of interaction in the classroom. Since oral practice is limited to class time, class attendance and participation is extremely important in developing communication skills. We will speak Norwegian from the very first moment in the classroom, and then continue to learn about the culture, daily life, and attitudes of Norwegian people by using all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. All of these components are important in achieving successful communication. Authentic cultural materials will be used whenever possible.
