Elementary Music Theory

For nonmusic majors. For students who can read music, having some performance experience. Prerequisite: MUSIC 116.

Class description

The goals for Music 117 are to attain fluency in the fundamentals of music theory (intervals, scales, keys, transposition, meter, triads and seventh chords) and to introduce Roman numeral, figured bass and non-chord tone analysis.
