Class description
How to analyze a business to develop a successful model and strategy.
Students will apply all of the core subjects to understand business models, strategic positioning, competitive analysis, operational drivers, and key general management practices and principles.

General method of instruction
The UW Business School will serve as the case study for the quarter. Teams (selected by the instructor) will compete to develop the best and most realistic strategy to improve the rank and profitability of the school.
In-class case work and lecture will supplement the ongoing development of your team project.
Recommended preparation
Time will be provided during each class for the development of the project. However, significant time will be required outside the class for research and preparation of the case. Only students who are willing to make a major time commitment to the course should enroll.
Class assignments and grading
Assigned readings, team project, practice case work (2), and a book report (the book will be provided).
The final presentations will be judged and forced ranked by the students, instructor, and several senior members of the University. The project will represent 50% of your grade. In addition, there is an aggressive peer review, practice cases, and the book report to reward individual achievement.
