Class description
In this course, we will look back at the history of the theories of leadership,decision making, and critical thinking and review their applications in organizational settings.

General method of instruction
As this is an upper-division class, you can expect the bulk of the course to focus on readings (from text, academic articles, and popular press)and class participation.
Recommended preparation
REQUIRED PREPARATION!! You must come to class prepared to discuss required readings in detail. You MUST have a strong background in organizational behavior (e.g., MGMT 300). Otherwise, you need to review Kinicki and Kreitner's- Organizational Behavior: Key Concepts, Skills, & Best Practices prior to the first day of class.
Class assignments and grading
Assignments will include unscheduled in-class writing assignments, written evaluations of popular and academic literature, and group work (both in and out of class).
Grading criteria will be discussed in detail the first week of class. A large portion of your grade is based on in-class contribution. If you know ahead of spring quarter that you will miss more than ¼ of the total number of classes, you should consider taking this class another time. The class is graded on a curve with a mean of 3.2.
