Topics in American History

Seminar on selected topics in American history, with special emphasis on preparation for field examinations. Topics vary according to interests of students and instructor.

Class description

ASIAN AMERICAN HISTORY

This graduate-level seminar will introduce students to the field of Asian American history, with an emphasis on historiographical shifts and debates. The readings will encompass a broad range of topics and methodologies that often cross disciplinary boundaries. We will investigate how the field has evolved over time and challenged traditional narratives of U.S. history.
