Note: This course was formerly numbered HIST 307. If you have already taken HIST 307, do not register for this class.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Daily lectures. Students are expected to attend lectures and read the assigned books.

Recommended preparation

No prerequisites.

Class assignments and grading

A midterm and a final; (a possible short paper as well).

Midterm--50% Final--50% (basis on which grades are assigned is subject to change--check with professor at start of quarter)
