Special Topics in Aquatic and Fishery Sciences

One-time offerings of topics in fisheries by resident or visiting faculty.

Class description

Students can expect to learn how to develop and implement simple algorithms using Microsoft Excel's Visual Basic Editor, with Excel as the primary means of data input and output.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

All class time is computer lab time.

Recommended preparation

Be comfortable working with Excel. No programming experience is necessary.

Class assignments and grading

Assignments will be short programs written by the students.

The class is pass/fail only. Five out of six homework assignments must be completed in order to pass, a "completed" program is one that runs and performs the assigned task.
