Class description
The role of investor relations (IR) is to accurately communicate the financial component of a public company’s corporate message to the investment community in keeping with fiduciary and legal obligations. It combines the skills of finance, communications, and marketing. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the key elements of IR including the role and process of investor relations, understanding your shareholder base and targeting investors, valuation and other financial metrics used by investors, and the regulations governing the IR practice. To develop these concepts, students will evaluate and critique various aspects of IR functions of public companies.
