Class description
Introduction to Modern Greek. Pronunciation and conversation, grammar and composition. This class is first in three to develop basic communication in Greek language.
Student learning goals
During the Fall Quarter, students are expected to learn the basic units of sentence and sentence structure. By the end of the Quarter they will be able to introduce themselves and talk about their present status.
General method of instruction
Students read the grammatical information before coming to the class. In the class communication will be mostly in Greek. There will be sessions for questions in English.
Recommended preparation
Daily review of the lessons and preparation of homeworks. There are well designed and focused exercises. Participation is crucial as for any language class.
Class assignments and grading
Daily homeworks, no homeworks the weekend.
The final grade will be based on: class participation, weekly homework and tests.
