Focuses on reading, writing, presentation, and critical analysis of written material, in an interdisciplinary context of environmental problems. Develops proficiency in use of bibliographic databases, scholarly journals, and the Internet as research tools. Second in three course series required of Environmental Studies majors. Class description
This course will provide you with a collaborative workshop setting in which you will develop strategies and skills for writing and speaking about environmental issues in different disciplinary contexts for various kinds of audiences. We will approach writing not as a matter of following a formula, but rather, as a process of inquiry, analysis, and communication. We will focus, especially, on tools you will need as you continue in the Environmental Studies major at the UW and beyond, in your further studies and/or working life.
