Introduction to Macroeconomics

Analysis of the aggregate economy: national income, inflation, business fluctuations, unemployment, monetary system, federal budget, international trade and finance. Prerequisite: ECON 200; recommended: MATH 111. Offered: AWSpS.

Class description

This course covers macroeconomic theory, including such topics as economic growth, business cycles, monetary and fiscal policy, international trade, financial investment and the distribution of national income.

Student learning goals

Have basic idea about major macroeconomic theories like classical theory, growth theory and business cycle theory.

Understand the economy from short run, long run and the very long run.

How does monetary policy affect the economy.

Basic knowledge about financial market.

General method of instruction
