Class description
Class will focus on design research and fabrication. The student will learn how to use professional shop equipment, machine and hand sewing techniques; will be expected to complete a wearable costume.
Student learning goals
The aim of this class is to support the participant in fabricating their character.
General method of instruction
Lecture and demonstrations will be Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am to 12:30pm in the UW costume shop, with 10-15 hours of homework each week. Instructor will be available Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for hands-on project help and other times by arrangement.
Recommended preparation
It is intended for Anime enthusiasts, costume professionals, fiber artists, design students and has a prerequisite of basic sewing skills.
