Rehearsal and classroom performance of dramatic literature of various periods and styles.

Class description

Viewpoints technique, a movement and awareness system developed by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau, can be use in combination with any other acting form, allowing you to be fully alive and engaged onstage. Requirements: movement clothes.

Student learning goals

Using a methodical approach you will learn all of the nine Viewpoints, the benefits of working in "soft focus", how to apply the Viewpoints to character work, and basic composition work.

Viewpoints enables you to become more aware and present in an ensemble, and more alert and giving an actor. You develop specific tools which can be applied to any rehearsal or audition, with any director, and to any process. Learn how to take every element thrown at you as an actor and turn it into a choice.
