Class description
“News” in the 21st Century
Where do you get your news?
With audiences for traditional newscasts dropping, and increasing options for viewers, how are we forming our world and political views? This class will explore today’s sources of news, from entertainment dramas such as “West Wing” and “Boston Legal” to comedic news such as “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” to magazine shows, Sundy morning fare and talk shows such as “The O’Reilly Factor”.
We will explore different potentials for context and the impacts of accuracy and bias.
