Student learning goals

General method of instruction

To simulate professional practice as much has possible, the class work will be conducted in a manner similar to that expected in professional engineering offices. There will be no lectures, exams or homework assignments in the course. Instead, the class sessions will be used for questions, discussions, group work and coordination among teams and team members.

Recommended preparation

This course is directed towards seniors in civil and environmental engineering who have already taken several senior courses in structural and geotechnical engineering.

Class assignments and grading

The information above is intended to be helpful in choosing courses. Because the instructor may further develop his/her plans for this course, its characteristics are subject to change without notice. In most cases, the official course syllabus will be distributed on the first day of class.
