Lecture series on topics of major importance in the atmospheric sciences. Prerequisite: permission of instructor.
Class description
In many areas of modern science, one is confronted with observations and model simulations of a complex system. The degree to which the behavior of these systems can be understood and predicted depends upon synthesizing information from both observations and models. This class deals with objective, optimal solutions to this problem, with an emphasis on high dimensional systems and practical applications.
