Advanced individual projects in metal design. Prerequisite: either ART 357 or ART 358.
Class description
A deepening of exploration and experience in a self directed facet of the metals field. Students must be highly self motivated and will start to learn what it means to be an artist, pursuing one's own ideas.
Student learning goals
General method of instruction
Weekly meetings of all current 460 students to discuss each person's ideas and research progress. Additional individual meetings with students on an as-needed basis.
Recommended preparation
258 and several 300 level metals courses.
Class assignments and grading
Weekly individual discussions with students on their own topic investigation. Specific directions of reading or technical experimentation suggested.
Intellectual engagement, student exploration in chosen topic of investigation. Participation in group discussions.
