Topics in Studio Art and Practice

Examines a variety of cutting edge, emerging, and interdisciplinary approached in studio art and practice. Topics vary.

Class description

During winter quarter 2003, ART 360 is offered as Painting and Digital Media. The goal of this course is to investigate how digital tools can be applied to enhance learning and to enlarge upon the range of methods used to solve problems in painting and drawing.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Studio assignments are to be carried out both during class and as homework. There will also be lectures, group discussions and student presentations.

Recommended preparation

Students must have completed all prerequisites for ART 360. A beginner's knowledge of Adobe Photoshop will be helpful.

Class assignments and grading

Assignments will generally involve carrying out specific painting and drawing problems.
