Alternative Approaches to Art and Design

Presentation of process through which artists discover and translate ideas, feelings, and concerns into images or objects. Use of a wide variety of methods and approaches, from traditional to technological, to promote visual expression. Discussion and critiques leading toward better understanding the creative process.

Class description

Students will develop a general knowledge of web page construction and posting. This course will include web building along with an aesthetic sensitivity towards type, color and page layout. This course is designed for general art majors interested in technology and online mediums.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Lecture, hands-on computer lab and formal critiques.

Recommended preparation

Some knowledge of Photoshop

Class assignments and grading

Small projects will incude web audit, navigation excercises, and final portfolio site.

Participation and completion of assigned projects.
