Class description
Comprised of a series of lectures and hands-on workshops, this course will take students through a series of exercises to reinforce the concepts of Building Information Modeling BIM and introduce the tools for parametric building design using Revit Architecture. Significant lab time required.
Student learning goals
Students will become familiar with the Revit Architecture workspace and user interface to effectively model a building.
Students will gain an understanding and appreciation for Revit’s parametric change engine and the advantages of using parametric objects in the context of a Revit project.
Students will learn a variety of presentation techniques available in Revit and develop documents for plotting sheets.
Create awareness and familiarity of Revit in the broader context of BIM.
General method of instruction
Lecture and laboratory sessions.

In-class Labs and Assignments will consist of exercises centered around the practical application of the software.
Assignments are graded on technical correctness, the extent to which they exhibit or extend the related concepts.
